In a time and place before our own....

The Marzan and Gen'dai have never enjoyed one another's company. While they have never went to war, their motto has always certainly been "Good, strong fences make neighbors we will never look at." Through famine, sickness, and trying times, the two had never joined forces...

...until now.

The dark vampire lord Markin has risen from his deep grave near the Coldstone mountains and has ordered his vampire fledglings to ravage the countryside. They began with the Granook, the forest-dwellers who live safely in the confines of the ancient Kirkwood forest. After the slaughter of the Hannook village, destroying the homes and killing all whose blood ran red, they then turned their focus on the Marzan and Gen'dai plains.

Meanwhile, in the dark shadows of Coldstone Keep, the goblins and ogres who haunted there saw a new power rise. Rillaan Starshine, a recent reject from the Tressan Academy of Wizards, came home disgraced and boiling for vengence. She saw her chance as the leaders of the Joondai Council and Tressan Academy were at leave. Rize, the Coldstone Keeper, summoned his forces upon Rillaan's command and together they began to wage war and destroy the beautiful lakes and rivers of the Joondai and Tressan nations. "They will suffer for their mistake," Rillaan told Rize. And suffer they will.

Now that the Marzan and Gen'dai have decided to join forces, will they conquer the evil coming from Lord Markin's vampire horde? Or will they too suffer the same fate as the Granook, who have lost many of their people already from the slaughter of their most prized village. The Joondai and Tressan mages must now combine their forces to combat the scorned Rillaan, the fires of heaven bearing down on them with more force than ever before!
