Family Matters, Week of 11-26-06
Every week I write about my family. Welcome to it. Sorry for the tardiness.
Annie (4yr old Christmas Elf)
Annabelle has officially approved of dad picking up the guitar again. I sing pretty much whatever comes into my head and whatever tabs I find on ultimate-guitar.
The other day, this came to a head in overwhelming cuteness:
"Daddy, I want a guitar for christmas!"
"You do?"
"Yeah, a pink one!"
"Why?"
"Because I want to be a star. I want to be your star Daddy."
And right about then my heart melted.
"Aww, that's great babe. We'll see if we can get you one, okay?"
"And I'll need a microphone too! A pink one!"
"Okay honey, we'll see."
And thus begins the search for a pink guitar.
Abby (2yr Old Mechanical Wonder)
Abigail is currently in the hospital with an infected absess. They think it's MRSA/Staph, and they also believe she got it from me a few months ago. That it's been lying dormant all of this time.
The worst part is this absess is on her left buttocks. Oh, fun. She's currently residing in Children's Hospital where the ass-kicking antibiotics are kicking her ass (fever hit 102.4 yesterday, but came down). They lanced it on Friday but it got worse and she was in the hospital by Saturday.
Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse than this.
Ericka (her myspace)
Ericka has been keeping busy with working, hanging out with friends, cleaning up and making her way to the amazing sales last week.
Since I don't write on days I don't work, I'll tell you the most interesting story:
Around 11AM Ericka wanders to the East Towne mall in Knoxville, specifically the Old Navy store. Upon entering she gets one of those cardboard pull-off promotions, you know the kind, the ones built-in with the "10% off $100 purchase!" deals.
Well, not this one.
In each store there was a $250 shopping spree being given away via these cardboard cutouts.
Guess which lucky lady won?
Yup, it 'twas a good day when Evan gets another PS2 (instead of an expensive Wii) and Ericka wins a free shopping trip. Later that night we hit up another Old Navy with better selection and got the girls all the clothes they would need...
...for about two months. We tried to stretch it as far as we could, but clothes don't last long on kids, no matter how big we get them in anticipation of their growth.
Of course, the best thing is that we get double-use out of Annie's clothes, as Abby is always there and ready for the hand-me-downs. I expect this to stop being actually doable in about six years.
Etc.
Lastly I'd like to note I haven't forgotten or given up on this blog (nor will I ever). I'm just insanely busy during the holidays and I'm pushing my little pet projects as hard as they can go.
She will kiss until your lip bleeds
But she will not take her dress off
