I'll be damned if I ever, ever stop for another one of those ridiculous "you're a thief, stop" beepers again.

Truly enlightening. Oh, and those receipt checkers at Wal-Mart with their little highlighters? Good luck ever seeing me stop at one of those again.

Ok, I read the article, and while I completely understand where he's coming from (he states his sources and reasonings clearly and coherently), I can't say that I'll be going along with it.
When I go to Sam's or Costco, I expect to be 'reciepted', and expect it at Wal-Mart if I've bought items too big to fit in a bag. That said, I've never had anyone treat me the way this author was treated, and I go to Wally World a LOT.
THAT said, his retaliation against the security guard was really quite brilliant.
The checkout procedures are completely ridiculous at Wal-mart. And unless they have physical proof (as in video tape) it is illegal for them do detain you against your will to be checked. Just Walk Out.
