And We Begin Again

So after an extremely long hiatus (almost a whole damn week), here we are, again, back, returned, rejuvinated, whatever.

Last week was all sickness and surgery. Returning to work today, I was happy to be back toward the 'normal' spectrum of things. I sat down, turned on my machine...

...and I got a permissions error on logging on. WTF?

Apparently Windows Update had decided that my day would officially suck for the better half of it, including spending two hours on Windows XP Profile Problems (find the answer here) and logging off and logging on about two dozen times in the process.

Balance in all things. Over and over again. Repetition repeating itself. And while the madness of this process got me upset, at least I could say, "Yup, this is what I left."

And that's what I got. So, yeah.

As for the weekend (expect a chunky family blog post this week), we got to hang out with none other than AT and the fam in a shindig that was pretty frickin awesome. (Thanks David for hosting!)

We found new, interesting neighborhoods hiding in Oak Ridge and immediately expressed awe at how damn perfect the land back there was. Quiet, gorgeous scenery, nice neighborhood...

...and then that whole 'reality' hit and the price ranges are probably nowhere near what we can afford. And if I've learned anything from An Engineering Approach to Money, it's not to jump into some huge mortgage if the rest of my financials are in dire straits. Or any straits for that matter.

So until tomorrow, may I stay on the strait and narrow.

I love puns.

Remember the weight of the world
It?s a sound that we used to buy
