Creative Developments

So I'm in that phase were I get the hankering to design something again. This currently includes me finishing the last set to the Fires of Heaven block, which is as geeky as it gets.

However...all of this geek is not for naught. Heh.

Firstly, I've gotten kudos from every Magic geek who's stumbled on Fires of Heaven. Always nice.

Secondly, that sort of experience is invaluable for doing stuff like designing and developing sets for other games, as I did for Star Chamber's Descent expansion that I helped create.

Lastly, this past weekend I took the time and entered the Great Designer Search Contest that allows me to, if nothing else, attempt to play with the 'big boys' of game design.

If this all sounds daydreamy, well, that's because it is. It's a passion of mine. And all dreams, geeky or no, sound pretty far fetched on a blog.

Also, and because it's what I've been working on, here are two new cards from the upcoming expansion.

If nothing else, the art is awesome, isn't it?

A new mechanic...

...meets another new mechanic.

These also feature two new mechanics from the set, Shred and Stasis. For you Magic geeks out there, Shred is a new way of splitting up interesting abilities and Stasis is an undercost enabler.

So, until tomorrow.

Unkind girlish walk
Like a deed to the world without the talk
