Family Matters, Week of 5-14-06

Every Wednesday I write about my family. Welcome to it.

And let me note that yes, I was out sick on Monday. Yesterday…eh, I was lazy. I’ve been writing like crazy for StarCityGames and that’s taken up a lot of my creative time and energy. Not to mention the new set for Star Chamber is released this weekend.

Annie (3yr old Cool Peep)

Annie is getting older and wiser by the day. She’s also getting sneakier. This involves lying and hiding and stealing and ‘working the angle’, such as asking for something when her mother said no or vice versa. Oh the tricks come flying left and right.

Annie is also getting more into accessories and clothes. She got a bunch of new clothes yesterday and was very excited about them. She’s also taken to trying on everything she can find. Not just her own clothes, but Abby’s clothes and old baby clothes that are laying around.

As you can imagine, it gets pretty strange.

“Annie, take off that onesy!”

Abigail is still king crap of turd mountain when it comes to getting her way. She still insists on things her way no matter what.

Example time:

Last night she wanted to go use the bathroom. So I take apart the potty and put the seat over the regular toilet seat, flip over the potty base for a footstool and wait for Abby to climb up.

But Abby starts crying and pointing to where the potty was next to the bathtub.

“I wanna do it!” she tells me.

“No Abby, c’mon get there and pee-pee because it’s time for bed.”

“I wanna do it!”

This sort of reasoning-screaming-reasoning-crying-reasoning-screaming went on for awhile until I finally turned the potty base back over and set it next to the bathtub. Abby picks it up, turns it over, and sets it right back down where it was. She then happily climbs up there and urinates.

The mind boggles.

Ericka has been busy with Yet Another Cake Order (yay!) and is officially going to hunt for ghosts and ghoulies tonight.

I wish her best of luck on her journey and hope she catches as many Orbs as possible.
