Finally
My God, has the government finally woken up to the fact that New Orleans is a shitstorm of massive proportions? Can we really get food and water in there? Can we get these people out and work on the details later?
Yesterday I was just sad, but today I?m amazingly pissed off. Not to mention the cold hard evidence of this administration?s faults come to light, all while, as I type this, a new story is on CNN of Bush posing for photographers while he kisses and hugs some poor family who has lost everything. I?m tired of the posturing you ridiculous politicians, I?m just tired of it.
While everyone else in New Orleans has lost everything. Small businesses? Washed out. Companies destroyed. The goddamn place is on fire and it took almost a week to realize that this is major? You know, the kind we need to actually pay attention to? Have you heard the brilliant New Orleans Mayor lash out at this hypocracy? ?What authorization do we need to get help?? he asks, and there is simply no good answer. The Governor has to authorize the government to help? Does this make any sense? A city is in shambles, people are dying. I don?t know how much clearer it can get.
Of course, all I can do is donate and hope to God it isn?t as bad as it feels in my gut. I can?t help but tear up when I try to wrap my head around the devastation. It makes me feel sick, it makes my heart ache. It?s raw humanity and we?re finally doing something about it.
If you want to read some reports from someone who is actually there, then get an eyeful. You?ll be astonished at what isn?t being shown on your local television.
Bush can preen and posture and hope he can talk tough and get into action, but in the end he fucked this up a long time ago. I can?t imagine a country that is willing to put up with a fabricated war, thousands of our soldiers dying, and then New Orleans drowning all under his watch. I?m just so?fed up.
I apologize if this post/rant is so disjointed. My head is spinning from New Orleans, my work life is hectic, and Star Chamber just opened the floodgates of coolness to me. Next week will be slightly truncated (as I?m off on Monday so this blog takes Monday off as well), but I?ll do my best to bring the Rockin Content. I appreciate all of those out there who read my words. Let?s make sure that come election time New Orleans isn?t lost in the shuffle.
Yeah I think that I might break
I?ve lost myself again and I feel unsafe

Great point, Now you are writing some good stuff.
At least bush can't run again, and this country wouldn't elect Darth Cheney. Here's hoping Feingold K.O.'s Hil in the Dem primary and McCain can survive borgeois personal attacks so we have a shot at having a real leader in times of crisis.
