Moving Day

Today marked the most significant moving progress to a new office. You see, as the office is located about 50 feet across the parking lot, the gradual (and somewhat nomadic) travel of various office supplies/equipment has been steady for the past week or so. The biggest pieces left today were the two tables I set my printer, computers, phone, etc on, and moving those was real fun.

And by Real Fun I mean, Pretty Fuckin Hard with lots of mutterings including “What the fuck am I doing this for, why couldn’t I just hire movers like they said I could,” etc. You know, the usual.

Regardless, they weren’t quite as heavy as I suspected and with a little help from coworkers (that went no further than navigational directions and door opening/closing) I made my way across the parking lot to their new home. So I’m very glad that tomorrow should mark the end of Moving and the beginning of Setting Up.

This weekend really has me on edge at this point. I’ve completely lost the phone number to the guy I ran into at the Grand Prix, and so now I have no way of contacting him beforehand, and somehow I need to get my cell phone turned back on so I can call once I get up there. Of course, no number means no call, and…well, it’s been a busy day and this shit is getting to me. Being 8 hours away from home for a weekend is bad enough. To be without communication is tougher. To be up there without 100% assurance I’ll make Day 2 (and hence, The Cash) is another worry.

Wow, all that confidence from a few days ago sure is shot to hell now, ain’t it?

Anyway, that’s the news. I’d write more but I’ve got some moving to do, which will probably include my work PC if nothing else goes awry.
