Family Matters, Week of 4-4-05

Well, I’ve moved the Patented Family Updates to Monday. I hope that doesn’t mess with anyone else’s schedule, but frankly, it’s not like I give a shit.

So let’s get to it:

Annie

Annie officially wants to be a Ballerina and will let you know as much. Sometimes she has the most (non-intentional) hilarious conversations.

Late last night, Ericka has this exchange:

“A baby cow is called a calf.”

“No it’s not, it’s a cow…” She of course says coooooowwwww, and not just “cow”, as it is exponentially more interesting to a 2 year old.

“I’m an adult and you are a child,” Ericka says after explaining the inner-workings of cats/kittens and dog/puppies.

“No I’m not,” Annie says, “I’m a ballerina.”

Well, can’t argue with that.

Abby

Abby remains sweet and just as interesting as ever. She’s finally getting the handle of language, her words getting more and more pronounced. She’s not quite mastered “ball” but she has “ba-ba” down (for her drink/milk of course).

I wish I had more to write about the little munchkin other than she is, in contrast to Annie, quite short. Yes, I know, Annie is a year older, but what I’m referring to is Abby’s height compared to what Annie’s was at that age. Abby will be the short dark haired one, and Annie will be the blonde/lanky one I’m sure.

Ericka (her blog)

Ericka did the deed yesterday and finally gave in: She saw Sin City with me. While I thought it was a dark noir masterpiece, particularly for Rodriguez who continues to excel in everything he does, Ericka didn’t enjoy it (I’m sure she’ll give you the full blog scope later, as will I).

As far as culinary masterpieces, Ericka churned out a tiramisu over the weekend (Google it) and it was spectacular. In the interest of finding the latest and greatest dessert recipes and making sure she can create them, I get the byproduct of such testing: Eating said desserts, good or bad, and loving every minute of it. Did I mention I need to go back to the gym?

And now, for those Unused Easter Pics I promised:

The meanness…it just gives and gives.

For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
